This is the letter “You made the Nice List”, filled in for Ruby. In the builder you change the details, edit any sentence, and see it in Santa’s handwriting before you pay.
Dear Ruby, Ho ho ho! I am writing to you from my workshop at the North Pole, where the elves are busy and the reindeer are practicing their takeoffs. I can hardly believe you are already 3! I checked my list this morning, and I checked it twice. I am delighted to tell you that your name is on the Nice List! I am so proud of you for saying please and thank you. That kind of thing never goes unnoticed up here. Please give your puppy Waffles a big hug from me. Remember to go to bed early on Christmas Eve. I only visit when everyone is fast asleep!
With love and jingle bells,
Santa Claus

What makes it work
- Keep it concrete. Toddlers light up at their own name, their pet’s name and one thing they did.
- Praise something small and specific: using the potty, sharing a toy, trying a new food.
- Let them “get the mail.” Walking to the mailbox and finding an envelope with their name on it is the moment.
- Read it aloud more than once. Repetition is the magic at this age.

How the letter is made
Every letter is written stroke by stroke with a real pen, in real ink, on Santa’s letterhead. The pen is held by a writing machine, which is how we can write thousands of letters and still have each one be actual pen on paper. The envelope is addressed to the child in the same ink. See how it works.
Questions
How long should a letter from Santa be for a toddler?
Short. A few warm sentences with their name, one thing they did well and someone they love is plenty. Our standard letters read aloud in under a minute.
