A sample letter
This is the letter “For a very good dog”, filled in for Biscuit. In the builder you change the details, edit any sentence, and see it in Santa’s handwriting before you pay.
Dear Biscuit, Ho ho ho! A letter for a dog? Of course. Dogs have been on my list since the very first Christmas, and this year I have been hearing wonderful things about you. I hear you have been very good at greeting everyone at the door with a wag. That is exactly the kind of thing that gets a dog onto the Nice List, and I am happy to tell you that your name is on it. The elves tell me you are partial to peanut butter. I will have a word with the workshop. Between now and Christmas, maybe go a little easier on the squirrels in the yard. I understand. The squirrels up here are very rude too. Please give Olivia and Max a lick from me. On Christmas Eve, keep an ear out for sleigh bells, and please do not bark at the reindeer. They are shy.
With love and jingle bells,
Santa Claus

What makes it work
- Write the envelope to the pet. The name on the envelope, in ink, is the part the children will not stop talking about.
- The habit to go easy on is the best line in the letter. Pick the one the whole family already jokes about.
- Read it aloud with the pet in the room. Film it. That is the whole point.
- Add the Nice List certificate: a dog or cat on parchment with a gold seal goes straight on the fridge.

How the letter is made
Every letter is written stroke by stroke with a real pen, in real ink, on Santa’s letterhead. The pen is held by a writing machine, which is how we can write thousands of letters and still have each one be actual pen on paper. The envelope is addressed to the child in the same ink, sealed in wax, and finished with a North Pole stamp and postmark. Everything you order for one child, the letter, the certificate and any notes, arrives together in one delivery, so you choose the moment for each piece. See how it works.
Questions
Is the pet letter a different product?
No. It is one of Santa’s letters, at the same price, with questions written for an animal instead of a child: their name, what they are good at, their favourite treat, one habit to go easy on, and their people.
Can I order a pet letter with the children’s letters?
Yes. Add the pet as another letter in the same order. Two or more letters in one order and the whole bill gets the family discount.
