Giving

Give a letter from Santa to a child in foster care.

This season we are writing to children in foster care in Bucks County, Pennsylvania: a real letter from Santa in real ink, sealed and addressed to the child, with a Nice List certificate carrying their name. Two ways to be part of it.

Donate letters

Buy letters for children who need one.

$20 a child covers the letter, the certificate, the envelope and the postage. Anyone can: a family, a church group, a business. Pay by card or ask for an invoice.

Donate letters

Sponsor a letter, free

Stand behind one of the letters we are donating.

Our first batch is 100 letters, donated by us. A local business can sponsor one of them at no cost. It is a gesture: your business is thanked on this page, nothing goes on the letter, and we ask only that you tell people about the program. Further batches depend on demand and on what the pen has time for.

How it works

  1. 1Letters get funded. Donated letters are paid for by the people who give them; the first batch of 100 is paid for by us, and local businesses can each stand behind one as a gesture.
  2. 2Partner organisations supply the children. We are arranging the list through Bucks County foster-care and child-welfare organisations, who know which children would be lifted by a letter. Names never come to givers and never leave the caseworkers.
  3. 3Santa writes. Each letter is personal to the child, written with a real pen, mailed in a sealed envelope with the child’s name on it to the foster home or the agency, with the Nice List certificate alongside, in December.
  4. 4You hear what happened. After the letters go out you get a note with the number written and mailed, and you are thanked on this page if you want to be. Nothing about a giver appears on a child’s letter.
